Shawna provides insurance coverage counseling and litigation support to the firm’s insurance clients on matters involving personal and advertising injury coverage, product defects, and personal injury claims.

Before Nicolaides

Shawna was a summer associate at Nicolaides Fink Thorpe Michaelides Sullivan LLP before joining the firm. Prior to that, she represented clients on a variety of copyright and trademark matters in her roles as a business and legal affairs intern for a performing rights organization, a law clerk for Vanderbilt University Law School’s Intellectual Property and the Arts Clinic, and an intern at an entertainment law firm, where she negotiated and drafted contracts and managed clients’ intellectual property portfolios.  

Shawna was also active in her law school community, where she served as Vice President of Entertainment for the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, Secretary of the Art Law Association, and member of the Intellectual Property Association and Law and Business Society.

Outside Nicolaides

In her spare time, Shawna enjoys attending live music events, hosting game nights, and teaching her rescue pup Phifer new tricks. She grew up singing and performing and has done so in the Sydney Opera House, the Chicago House of Blues, and on Chicago’s local ABC affiliate; these days, Shawna sticks to singing in the shower.
