Emerging Issues in Additional Insured Coverage

Location: DRI’s 2021 Complex Coverage Forum
On Thursday, November 11, 2021, Charles A. Hafner will present at DRI’s 2021 Complex Coverage Forum at the Westin Great Southern in Columbus, Ohio.

Charles’ presentation, “Emerging Issues in Additional Insured Coverage,” will provide an overview of the Insurance Services Office (ISO)’s 2004 revisions to its suite of additional insured endorsements, which shifted the language from an “arising out of” standard to an allegedly narrower “caused in whole or in part by” standard. Attendees can expect to hear about emerging issues relative to the scope of additional insured coverage in light of the revised language, including the interplay with contractual indemnity and state anti-indemnity statutes.

DRI’s annual Complex Coverage Forum addresses cutting-edge insurance coverage issues, such as those arising from sexual abuse claims in the wake of extended statutes of limitations, thorny trigger issues for property damage claims, permissive use in auto liability claims, claims arising out of COVID-19, and an update on the Restatement of Liability Coverage.
