Outpacing Peers and Breaking Down Barriers: Nicolaides Fink Thorpe Michaelides Sullivan LLP Named One of the Best Law Firms for Female Attorneys

Nicolaides is recognized in Law360's 2018 Glass Ceiling Report for "outpacing their peers" and "breaking down barriers and forging a path to a more diverse working environment." In an article published in Law360's May 28th edition, Nicolaides is acknowledged among a select group of firms from across the United States for "opening doors that have long been closed to women seeking to make their mark on the legal profession." The ranking, which focused on gender diversity, grouped firms based on attorney headcount in the United States. With 53 attorneys in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and White Plains, the Nicolaides team includes 25 women attorneys, including 13 partners. Law360 has also featured two of the firm's founding partners, Monica T. Sullivan and Sara M. Thorpe, as "Female Powerbrokers," a series which recognized women leaders, such as founding partners, managing partners and chief legal officers, within the legal profession.

The article goes on to report that women represent just a little more than one-third of attorneys in private practice.  This number has remained consistent during the publication's last five annual surveys, despite the fact at least 40 percent of law school graduates over the past 30 years have been women.  To view the full article, please click here.
